Frederick Palmore, Sr., 74
SCOTTSVILLE, June 28 – Frederick Lewis Palmore Sr., 75, of Scottsville, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 24, 2011. He was born to Rosa Palmore Duncan and Ernest Dabney Palmore Sr. on April 4, 1936 in Buckingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest “Junior” Dabney Palmore Jr. and a granddaughter, Kelsey Ann Palmore.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Rush Palmore; four sons, Frederick Lewis Palmore Jr. and daughter-in-law, Phyllis of Buckingham, John Dabney Palmore and daughter-in-law, Betty of Scottsville, Ronnie Wayne Palmore Sr. and daughter-in-law, Barbara of Scottsville, and Paul Anthony Palmore and daughter-in-law, Sharon of Dillwyn; two sisters, Mildred Ragland and brother-in-law, Odell of Buckingham and Evelyn Nicholas and brother-in-law, Kayo of Dillwyn; brother, Everett “Buddy” Palmore and sister-in-law, Peggy of Dillwyn; eight grandchildren, Stacy Palmore Love and husband, David of Buckingham, Amanda Elizabeth Palmore of Charlottesville, Ronnie Wayne Palmore Jr. of Buckingham, Frederick Lewis Palmore III and wife, Misty of Buckingham, Reva Palmore Allen and husband, Brian of Scottsville, Jessica Palmore Price and husband, Chad of Scottsville, Austin Wade Palmore and Hannah Grace Palmore of Dillwyn; and six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashton Love, Mary Emma Love, David Ashton Love Jr., Joseph Franklin Love, Jacob Lewis Palmore, and Abigail Grace Palmore. He also leaves to cherish his memory his beloved Jack Russell, Windy.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 27, at Buckingham County Middle School. Burial followed at Glenmore United Methodist Church Cemetery where Masonic Rites were provided.
